Shannon wanted to feature her passion for soccer in her senior portraits, which gave us an opportunity to some of my favorite kind of photos: “Xtreme Sports Portraits” or “Sportraits”! When I do these photos, I photograph the athlete in my Waukesha studio on a simple backdrop. Then, I bring the images into Photoshop and work my magic on them — adding digital backdrops, and special effects to them. They’re really fun for me to do and I enjoy doing some “digital manipulation” that’s different from the typical portrait retouching I do.
After we did her soccer portraits, Shannon and I went walking around downtown Waukesha around my studio for some more urban photos (think brick walls, buildings, bridges, etc). Shannon also wanted some nature portraits, so we finished her session at Frame Park (just a 2 minute drive from the studio).
We are very lucky that there is such a variety of great portrait locations in Waukesha. Enjoy some favorites of mine from her session below!
